Desperate mum calls on airline to help find beloved teddy which daughter might have left on plane

A desperate mum has enlisted the help of an international airline in an attempt to find her daughter’s teddy – which she believes was left on a plane.

Little Sienna Martin’s beloved teddy Bobby went missing on a flight to Manchester Airport from Gran Canaria on Saturday March 4.

Mum Riane believes the bear was last with them at Las Palmas Airport.

And she has put out a desperate plea to anyone who can help to reunite her two-year-old with the beloved soft toy.

Riane, from St Helens, said the youngster is ‘devastated’ about losing the irreplaceable little black teddy bear – which Sienna has had since she was born

Riane said: “We don’t let Sienna play with the bear on the plane – in case she loses him. The first we knew Bobby was missing was when we got home and unpacked the bags. Sienna’s sister, Georga, has a Mini-Mouse, which was unpacked but Bobby was not there.

“Sienna has been really upset. We have told her Bobby is still on holiday. But her going to bed is not a good time.

“We bought Bobby from a shop, called the Midpoint Cafe on Route 66 in Adrian Texas, while we were on honeymoon, so we had it for our first baby.

“He is really irreplaceable. We have contacted the shop but they don’t make a bear like him anymore.

“We have not giving up hope. He must be somewhere. He was in the bag when we left the hotel but that was the last time we saw him.”

In an emotional appeal on Facebook, Riane wrote: “Bit of a long shot but does anyone work for or know anyone who works for Jet 2 at Manchester airport??

“Sienna has left her bear on the plane flying back from Gran Canaria to Manchester airport this evening and she is devastated as am I!!

“She has had it with her since the day she was born.

“It is black bear with white writing on it and it is from Route 66.”

Airline staff have spent two days scouring the airport, aircraft and lost property store cupboards.

And the airline has tweeted #findbobbybear and a picture of Bobby to its 12,000 Twitter followers in the hope he can be found.

A Jet 2 spokesman said: “Since finding out about Bobby, Jet2.com’s friendly team have been on a mission to reunite Sienna with her beloved bear, spending the past 48 hours scouring the airport, aircraft and lost property store cupboards.

“Unfortunately, Bobby is still missing but the airline is still supporting Riane in her social media search to #findbobbybear and has also sent Sienna one of its Jettoo cuddly lion toys to comfort her.

“If anyone does spot Bobby or has any information, please contact pressoffice@jet2.com.”
