‘Lost bunny’ at Danish airport goes viral
Staff at Aalborg Airport found a fun way to pass the time on Thursday by starting a Facebook campaign to find the owner of a lost toy bunny, which has since gone viral.
Staff at Aalborg Airport lost and found decided to have a bit of fun on Thursday trying to locate the owner of a lost toy bunny.
On the airport’s Facebook page, staff posted a picture of the abandoned bunny seated on a chair with a caption that won over the hearts (and likes) of many of the airport’s followers on the site, reading: “I’ve lost my owner. I was found in the play area in Aalborg Airport. I’ve decided to have a good time by helping out a little around the airport while I wait for my owner, but I’d like to go home. : ) Do you know whom I belong to?”
The post was accompanied by additional photos of the bunny ‘helping out’ the local staff with various tasks around the airport, such as loading luggage onto carts and driving various airport ground support vehicles.
The post has since gone viral, and at the time of writing this article has been shared 5790 times and liked by 3937 people, 285 of whom have posted suggestions on how to track down the owner as well as praising the airport for its sense of humour.
“What a wonderfully positive post. I hope it finds its way home again, and I think it’s great that it’s rewarding you for your helpfulness by giving you a hand around the airport,” wrote Else Marie Pedersen.
“It’s SO great that you have the excess energy for cute little ideas like these. I’m sure that the little owner will be happy that you’ve taken such good care of his/her dearest toy,” Ingrid Hedevang wrote.
One of the airport’s staff, ‘Lisa from Marketing’, also took the time to reply to many of the comments, occasionally promising that she would pass on some of the kind messages to the bunny.
“I’ve written to Missing Persons Denmark to hear if they can help with this serious matter,” wrote Jacob Gadensgaard.
“It’s definitely a serious situation as it’s just occurred to us that we’re all out of carrots!” Lisa replied.
The owner of what is now Denmark’s most famous toy bunny has yet to be found, and Lisa suspects that his family may be on holiday – but promised to look after him until he is back in the arms of his owner.
